Shawn Tamaribuchi
Shawn is a multimedia artist born in the United States
and is the other half of performance art duo twincest.
Hir mediums of
choice consist of photography/ film/video/ web design
with a conceptually preoccupied with the presences of
the erotic body in the public sphere. Shawn is an
Irvine Diversity Grant 2002 recipient, co-organizer of
Ladyfest Bay Area 2004 Film/Video, board member of
Femina Potens Gallery, program coordinator of the
monthly Sampler film series, panel member for the
Center for Applied and Professional Ethics (CAPE) at
California State University, Chico discussion on
Should Society Allow Pornography?, a Madcat Women's
Film Festival featured artist and volunteer a
Transgiving and feature film maker, collaborative
visual artist with RAWDance’s Scripting Intimacies and
Per-verses, visual artist in the Asian American Dance
Performace’s Translations and Tradewinds show, has a
B.A. in studio art from Scripps College and has
studied abroad at the Glasgow School of Art in
Scotland.
Twincest’s Jez and Shawn appear throughout town as a dynamic sexual duo at local events and benefits, as well as having made cameos at “Redemptions” at the Center for Sex and Culture, at “Park Phuck” — a Post-DykeMarch public sex event, and the two are featured stars in selected scenes from The Crash Pad and SuperFreak!, produced by Pink and White Productions “Porn for Pussies”.
